Conspiracy theories
There are a lot of dumb yet popular conspiracy theories out there. I think my belief that Tom Glavine has been a double agent working for the Atlanta Braves for the last 5 years is at least as credible as the notion that "reptilian humanoids, possibly from space, secretly run the world."
